8 Nigeria Heartbreak songs(Breakfast songs)

The term "breakfast" is now used to describe a breakup heartbreak or being dumped by a lover, In some instances depending on how heavy or complex the situation is ,other calls it BRUNCH which is the combination of breakfast and lunch , in more complicated situations other calls it BREAK-DINN hilarious right, but that will be another topic for another day.

So I was able to comply 8 Nigeria songs that talks about heartbreaks, the funniest part is that these songs has nice beats🤣🤣, however ,Nigeria Artists who see themselves as storytellers have attempted to capture breakup feelings in songs over the years.

Here are 8 Nigerian heartbreak songs to listen to when you're going through a breakup or having your 'breakfast' served in a platter of Gold ,silver and bronze. Lolz.

8. Not The Girl - Darey

Darey released one of the best breakup songs of all time in 2008. 'Not The Girl' was a huge hit song that dominated the airwaves in the late 2000s. If it had been released in this decade, it could have been a TikTok hit. Lines like 'You're not the girl I used to know, you're a shadow of yourself, I think I lost you a long ago' added to the emotional intensity.

7. Thunder Fire You - Ric Hassani

'Thunder Fire You,' a 2019 hit song, is one of those songs that needs no introduction. Ric Hassani was so devastated that he cursed his lover for serving him 'breakfast.' To me this one has transformed from breakfast to Breakdin served with a golden ceramic plate🤣🤣

6. Last Last - Burna Boy

The African Giant  himself Burna Boy publicly dated and then broke up with British rapper Stefflon Don, prompting him to write a song about it. Burna Boy's pain was palpable in the song, especially when he said, 'Why you say I did nothing for you, when I for do anything you want me to do, Maybe another time, maybe another life you will be my wife and we'll get it right.'

From the lyrics of the song you  will know This kinda breakfast it get as e be, but last the chorus of the  song, 'laslas na Everybody go chop breakfast '🤣🤣.

5. Don't Call Me Back - Joeboy ft Mayorkun

Mayorkun and Joeboy collaborated on a story-telling song in 2019. The song 'Don't Call Me Back' is simply a song about a lover who is still in love with the person who served him or her a 'delicious breakfast' and threatens not to call the lover back when he finally gets to move on. It is a very relatable story. Am sure this would have been a true life experience but shall, they no dey write am for face😥.

4. Damages - Tems

So far, the songs listed have come from those who have been served. Here's one for those who serve 'breakfast' (winks). Tems is tired of being played and couldn't take any more 'damages,' so she had to serve her lover 'breakfast,' most likely in bed.

Just know that breakup can be served in different forms, know this & know peace🤣🤣🤣.

3. Out of Love - Chike

First of all I never knew this song was a heartbreak song not until a while ago, but really Without Chike's 'Out of Love,' this list would be incomplete. To me, his story is similar to that of many other people. It's about being in an open relationship without realizing i can you imagine that🤣🤣,

Chike thought it was exclusive, not realizing he had a number because she was in love with so many others i.e the  line long and he taught he was No 1 not knowing his exact number, Lines like 'said I thought I was the only one, say na me you call your number one' made me really pity him because he could be number  25 without knowing it😥🤣🤣...

2. Omoge Mi - Psquare

'Omoge Mi,' is from psquare 2005 album 'Get Squared,' the Nigerian music duo Psquare discussed how their lover was having an affair with their bestfriend. In the 2000s, it was a breakup anthem ,apparently When this song came out i was in primary 1 or 2 then,I knew the song from A_z ,trust me it was my best song then not until when I was quit older  and realised it was a heartbreak song🤣,my first major heartbreak was similar to this so it was quit relatable, well let me not say more than that😥😭.

1. Maxee - National Cake (Breakup Anthem)

Maxee, a new artist, released one of the year's hottest songs earlier this year. 'National Cake (Beakfast)' is a lamba from Maxee about a friend who has been dumped by his lover. He went on to say that he is waiting for his own because breakups affect everyone.

This song tells us everyone on earth will eventually experience heartbreak ,so be prepared to get served anytime 😭🤣🤣

But Trust  me Once in your life everyone is bound to CHOP BREAKFAST.

I have experienced 3 major heartbreaks that shaked me in my life, the first and the last one really affected me,but ever since then I I havnt seen any breakup that will mess up my mind o,if you say you no do,I go just dey carry my 6packs and go,God will provide another gf.

Thank you all for reading this wonderful article feel free to share ,and dont forget to drop your favorite heartbreak songs.
